Hennessey Venom F5 Evolution: The World's Most Powerful

The New Era of Hyperperformance with 2031 HP

Following a period of intense development and driven by the demand of its increasingly discerning clientele, Texas-based hypercar manufacturer Hennessey Special Vehicles has just unveiled the latest iteration of its iconic Venom F5, the Evolution version. This new benchmark in automotive engineering raises the bar for performance, aerodynamics, and comfort, solidifying the Venom F5 as the world's most powerful internal combustion road car.

The strategic collaboration between Hennessey and Ilmor Engineering, renowned performance specialists, has culminated in the creation of a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, affectionately nicknamed "Fury." Through a profound optimization of crucial engine and transmission components, the engineering teams at Hennessey and Ilmor have achieved an unprecedented level of power: an impressive 2031 horsepower at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 1445 lb-ft (1960 Nm) at 5200 rpm, utilizing Shell E85 fuel.

Key improvements implemented in the "Fury" engine include:
  • Precision 76/80 Next Gen Turbochargers: The world's largest mirror-image turbochargers.
  • Ilmor-designed Oval-Shaped Billet Aluminum Pistons: Featuring optimized profile geometry.
  • High-Strength Billet Aluminum Connecting Rods.
  • Lightweight Titanium Exhaust Valves.
  • Lightweight Valve Covers.
  • High-Capacity Fuel Injectors.

The result of this engineering synergy translates into extreme durability and breathtaking performance, allowing the Venom F5 Evolution to reach 200 mph (320 km/h) in a mere 10.3 seconds. This capability does not compromise its aptitude for endurance events, opening up new possibilities for its owners.

The driving dynamics of the Venom F5 Evolution have also been enhanced through the introduction of a new adaptive suspension system. This system allows the driver to modulate the vehicle's behavior through selectable driving modes on the steering wheel (Sport, Road Race, Drag, Wet, and the full-power F5 Mode).

Steering response, roll and body movement control, as well as bump absorption, are automatically adjusted, offering unparalleled versatility between track piloting and long-distance driving comfort.

The aerodynamic development benefited from the expertise of Dr. Mark Handford, a renowned specialist with experience in Formula 1 and Indycar. Through extensive testing on roads, circuits, runways, and wind tunnels, the Hennessey team completely redesigned the front splitter, with significant changes to the underbody. Front dive planes, underbody airflow deflectors, and louvers above the front wheel arches were added. In conjunction with the new suspension, a Gurney lip at the trailing edge of the rear spoiler improves high-speed stability during acceleration and braking.

Recognizing the desire of some clients to use their Venom F5s for longer journeys, Hennessey has developed a set of "Touring" options. These include alternatives to the lightweight carbon fiber bucket seats and the sports exhaust, extending to the inclusion of a carbon fiber cupholder. Anthropometric studies led to the development of optional "Touring Carbon Seats" with additional bolstering for greater comfort on long distances. Retaining an exposed carbon back, these new leather-wrapped seats feature a laser-cut design inspired by the aerospace industry.

The Evolution package, which encompasses the improvements to the engine, suspension, and aerodynamics, is available for both new orders of the F5 Coupe, Roadster, and Revolution models, as well as for existing owners. The cost of the Evolution package is $285,000, with the Touring options available for an additional cost.
